Criteria
The Product
An outstanding, unique or must-have cat product - that’s all!
I’m interested in pet essentials such as:

Food and treats.

Toys.

Bedding.

Scratchers.

Litter and trays.
As well as:

Cat-themed art, crafts, clothing, decor and everything else.
We're all cat crazy here!
If you’re unsure of whether your product is suitable, you can always send me a message.
The Brand
Anyone is welcome to enquire, whether you’re an independent artist or creator; a small business or large company. I only review on a tried-and-tested basis, so you’ll be required to send a physical product that I can use or evaluate.
Reviews
Standard reviews are free - all you need to cover are the item and postage costs. To get a better idea of how I review, here are a few examples:
If I feel that a product isn’t up to “scratch” then I reserve the right to refuse a review on the basis that it’s counterproductive for both yourself and my audience. To ensure authenticity and maintain trust with my valued readers, I will never promote a product that I wouldn’t buy myself or do not believe in. I will always give my honest opinion, for good or bad.
Please note:

I do not accept payment in exchange for reviews, as I feel that this discredits both the product and my evaluation.

I do not write positive reviews in exchange for payment, freebies or any other form of compensation.

In the event that I'm unable to get behind a product or service that's been supplied to me, I am not required to return or reimburse it.

I will consider sponsored posts or working with brands on an affiliate basis, if I feel that we're a good match and only after the product/service has been given the paws of approval. See the section below for more information.
Featured Reviews and Sponsorships
If you want to give your review extra exposure, a feature has additional benefits:

Sidebar placement within blog posts so it’s visible to readers while scrolling (below the main content on a mobile view).

If you have any discount codes or special offers, these can be added to the Promotions Page for the duration of the feature.

Subscriber newsletter with a link to the article.

Top priority - this doesn't mean I delay standard reviews, but I work on priorities in my spare time to deliver in a timely manner. If I'm working with several brands at once, it may take a few weeks to complete a review (I am just one human with her two cats).
Featured reviews incur a fee, which is based on how long you want it securing. Please let me know in your email if you’re interested in this service for price options. Sponsorships automatically get all the benefits of a feature within the sponsored amount, at no additional cost.
*Please note that the review policy still applies to features and sponsorships. I will only accept payment after the product/service has been evaluated and approved - this is for your benefit as much as mine.
How to Get in Touch
Use the contact form or email me at mail@catmumjournal.co.uk outlining the product you want to be reviewed. You can add a few details about your brand/company, along with any websites or socials. This helps me to decide whether it’s a good fit for my blog.
Tester Cats
In addition to my own fur babies, I have several family cats that are always excited to receive new goodies. I will choose the most suitable match for your product so you’re always getting a fair review. Cats being cats, they decide their own terms!
For Readers
At Cat Mum Journal, we value transparency. The only fluff you'll find here is the feline kind!
This means that sponsored reviews will always be marked as "sponsored" at the beginning of the article, without being hidden in an obscure location. It's important that readers understand the type of review so they can make an informed buying decision:

Sponsored - the review has been sponsored by the brand (payment received).

Free product - product supplied by the brand in exchange for an honest review.

Standard - product purchased by me out of my own pocket, no direct involvement with the brand.

Recommendations - no physical product received. Information collected from product page details and specs, brand research, customer feedback and comparisons against similar products.
I will always give my honest, unbiased opinion and sponsorships are only accepted from trusted brands. This helps towards funding the site and allows me to continue doing what I love: improving the lives of our furry companions.
