50 Halloween Cat Names:

The spooky season is purrfect for our feline companions, who carry the energy of Halloween with them all year around. Think nighttime prowlers, glowing eyes, razor-sharp fangs and that spine-tingling hisssss.

The best Halloween-themed names aren't just spooky; they fit your cat's characteristics and personality. From gothic black shadow dwellers to autumn oranges and ghostly whites; creepy cute kittens, tabby terrors and fearsome felines. For parents, maybe you're a long-time horror nerd - and that's fine, too!

Here are plenty of creative names inspired by classic horror, folklore, pop culture and Halloween traditions, each with a fun meaning to help you find the perfect match.

Vampires and Demons

Do you have a little terror at home? A hissy missy with a whopping pair of fangs, a senior with an edge or drama queen with cat-titude? Celebrate cats in all of their vampiric glory with a name to be remembered.

Dracula (m) - The infamous Transylvanian count and antagonist of Bram Stoker's 1897 novel. Also the inspiration behind my own cat, Drax, who was given the nickname due to his "widow's peak" hairline as a kitten.

Vlad (m) - Another nod to vampire lore, Vlad the Impaler (Vlad III or Vlad Dracula, born in the House of Drăculești) is said to have inspired the name of Count Dracula and makes an exotic nickname.

Lestat (m) - Meaning "state" or "status" in French, popularised by Lestat de Lioncourt from author Anne Rice's The Vampire Chronicles series, most notably Interview with the Vampire.

Fang (u) - Slick, spooky and just a little bit cute for a teething kitten. Cats aren't too dissimilar to the hissing, night-stalking vamps with the ability to hypnotise us into doing their bidding.

Spike (m) - William "Spike" Pratt, also known as William the Bloody. A most feared vampire, villian and anti-hero from the hit TV show, Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Lilith (f) - A she-demon from Jewish folklore, said to be one of the first evils and the first wife of Adam. Lilith was banished from the Garden of Eden for disobeying Adam - a woman who makes her own rules, just like our domestic cats!

Lucifer (m) / Lucy (f) - The Christian devil, aka Satan, was once believed to be a high-ranking, magnificent angel who was cast out of heaven for rebelling against God. Lucifer was the Roman name for "morning star" - the planet Venus, which was visible just before sunrise.

The name also links back to the Salem witch trials when cat superstitions were at their peak.
